"No speed limit for joggers", 2009
A public intervention by Manali Jagtap Nyheim to alter the media ecology of Chalkwell Park (Southend-on-Sea)
Why do people jog? What does jogging do emotionally and physically? Among many of the benefits are boosted visual memory and ability to recall images.
A humorous intervention, it uses the foot paths of the joggers in the Park and stimulates reflection and enhances the psychological benefits of jogging. Eight stencils were drawn on the main jogging path of the Park:
Stencil 1:MIND JOGGING
Stencil 2:JOGGING FACT 1: ADVANCES IMAGE RECALL
Stencil 3:NOW VISUALISE
Stencil 4:YOUR FIRST EVER DIP IN THE SEA
Stencil 5:JOGGING FACT 2: DEVELOPS MAPPING SKILLS
Stencil 6:NOW REMEMBER
Stencil 7:YOUR WAY FROM HERE TO THE PALACE THEATRE
Stencil 8:KEEP JOGGING!
